Shawl Weaving Artisan - Winding and Warping

Warping on warp beam

Objectives : At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• prepare warp sheet for weaving process.

Requirements

Tools/Equipment’s/Instruments
• Measuring tape - 1 No.
• Scissor small size - 1 No.

PROCEDURE

Winds the yarn on beam

1 Check the attachment of threads on the beam. 7 Repeat the steps and prepare 20 meters length
2 Now slightly rotate the beam. warp. (Fig 2)
3 Observe the movement of threads through the reed Fig 2
and winding on the beam.
4 Measure the circumference of the beam by using
measuring tape.
5 If the circumference is 1 meter, than the one rotation
indicates 1 meter length of yarn.
6 Now do 10 revolution i.e. 10 meter length warp.
